Mr Chafki teaches graduate level courses in BI and Data Management and has a Bachelor and a Master degree in Computer Science and a Master in Business Administration.
Jan Christopher Arp, Founder & Managing Partner at Holt Accelerator

Bio : Jan is a fintech evangelist with over a decade of experience, who believes fintech will transform our world for the better. He recently co-founded the Holt Fintech Accelerator with the Holdun Group (5th generation family office), where he works as Managing Partner in order to support seed stage fintechs by helping them partner with financial institutions, build AI based products, and close their funding rounds. Previously, he founded a non-profit FormFintech that’s supported or formed hundreds of fintech teams in domains such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and cybersecurity. Prior to this, he helped dozens of startups raise a total of $15 million of diversified funding (i.e. instutional VC, angel, debt, grants, etc.), and was head of finance for bus.com as it went from incorporation to Series A.

Co-founder of 2 technology firms at the age of 21, co-owner and managing partner of agileDSS, a consulting firm in the analytical world and speaker, Alexandre has close to 20 years of adventures in technology businesses, navigating from start-ups to big firms. Winston Wang – Program Manager – Business Analytics, Strategy at PW&C
Winston is the Program Manager of the Business Analytics hub, an independent Strategy division of Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) created to meet rapidly changing needs in analytics, enterprise digital transformation, and future aspirations in AI. Winston has had experience in Diagnostics, Prognostics, and Health Management for Aerospace MRO. He has led a number of strategic IoT digital transformation projects that pivoted P&WC’s value for its customers into the digital age with connected engines and advanced analytics solutions. Earlier in his career, Winston dabbled in the emerging field of data sciences at National Research Council Canada. Where he advanced machine-learning predictive modeling research for helicopter structural vibration monitoring. In addition to a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto, Winston has also earned an M.A.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS) with a thesis on sustainability of biofuel combustion in aviation gas turbines. Winston is currently working towards his MBA at McGill University.
Allan Lau – Director of Application Development & Infrastructure at Omnitrans
Allan has spent over 20 years in the Information Technology field developing software and leading hardware and software groups. Allan is presently the Director of Application Development & Infrastructure at Omnitrans Customs Brokers Inc. He is deeply passionate about operational excellence and process management. He has successfully spearheaded the implementation of multiple enterprise level software applications for Canadian and US operations. Prior to joining Omnitrans Inc. Allan worked for a Canadian bank where he received a national award of excellence. Allan completed his Executive MBA at the John Molson School of Business, and his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University of British Columbia.
Gregory Ning – Manager | Strategy & Transformation at EY
Gregory Ning specializes in strategy, performance and organizational transformation with a focus on strategic, technological, organizational and operational issues from assessment to implementation, using various methodologies, such as, Lean, Six Sigma, PMP and other quantitative methodologies. He has accompanied many clients conducting diagnosis, performing process optimization initiatives and leading transformation projects; allowing them to generate substantial savings. He leads strategic initiatives and manages team projects to provide added value to clients based on his expertise.

It’s time we focus on the next generation of technology talent, and to make sure every gender equality exists for the good of everyone. This means more flexible working arrangements, more women in leadership roles, and more encouragement at an early age for women. This panel, comprised solely of women, will dive into what it took to go from an employee, to a successful business woman in this ever changing world we now live in, with the hope of inspiring the many women to be empowered to pursue what they are deeply passionate about.

Michelle Shi – Business Analyst & Project Manager at Bell Canada
Michelle has experience in project management and business analysis across multiple industries. She’s worked with companies such as Universal Music, Connect&GO, and Coca-Cola. Currently, she supports various digital transformation programs at Bell which impact Canada’s biggest enterprises. In her spare time, Michelle has led various projects including conferences, benefit concerts, art exhibitions, and community workshops. For the past 2 years, she has been a volunteer at Montreal’s AI Hackathon, with the personal goal to attract more women in tech to these events. As a recent BCom graduate from McGill, Michelle hopes to give insight to students on how to ease the transition from school to the workplace.
Allison O’Brien – Chief Executive Officer at Alero Consulting
Allison O’Brien is a McGill University Alumni, who has founded and is now acting CEO of Alero Consulting, a comprehensive one-stop shop for Brand Strategy, Growth Hacking, Digital Marketing and Corporate Event Management. Alero offers attentive, individualized service for their clients, who have ranged from small independent startups to major Fortune 500 companies. O’Brien is also the Chief Operating Officer of the thriving Personal Fitness App – Fittcoach. In which she works to expand, and improve the brand, it’s partnerships and it’s potential within Canada. Along with her other projects, O’Brien currently acts as a consultant in IT Project Management at Openface Internet, where she works to streamline upcoming & active projects, finds more efficient processes and works to implement them into the workplace. She has recently expanded her scope with Openface and now also works with their marketing team in order to improve the acquisition of qualified leads.
Diana Mihaela Baranga – Co-Founder & Executive Director at UpstartED Inc.
Diana Baranga is the Executive Director and co-founder of UpstartED, a social enterprise that empowers students and educators to succeed in tech-infused future. Diana leads the development of UpstartED’s digital literacy and entrepreneurship programs, and consults institutions on how to embed innovation into their DNA.
Alexandra Ospina – Marketing Specialist at Transtex
Alexandra Ospina currently holds the position of Marketing Specialist at TRANSTEX, a pioneer manufacturer of aerodynamic solutions and vehicle safety technology. Over her tenure, she has managed digital and traditional marketing campaigns for Canada, the United States, and Mexico. In her role, she has developed a proficiency in content management, trade show organization, video production, advertising, event planning, and sales analysis. She has supported due diligence efforts resulting in the acquisition of E-SMART, a speed and fuel management software, as well as rebranding strategies for TRANSTEX. She is an active member of Women In Trucking and Women In Technology International, two associations with aligning goals of empowering women and fostering their career growth. After completing her Bachelor of Commerce, with a major in Marketing from the John Molson School of Business, she pursued certificates in Social Media Marketing and Photoshop, and is currently completing diplomas in Graphic Applications in Desktop Publishing and Web Programming at Concordia University.
Topic: “The Fight For Talent In Today’s Workplace”
This panel will discuss the high turnover rate in regards to technology jobs. Building on this idea, it will explain the added value Business Technology Management students can bring to the company in the current workplace with the many diverse skills they have to offer and what they can do to stand out to employers. Furthermore, each panelist will have the opportunity to tell their story, about how they got to where they are, and go into depth about certain strategies put in place to retain their current employees.

Rebecca Reich – Practice Manager, Mobile Center of Excellence
Rebecca Reich has held a variety of technical and managerial roles in companies spanning the USA, Europe and Canada prior to joining Sun Life Financial in the summer of 2017. She has worked in audio and acoustical engineering for over 10 years at Analog Devices, Octasic Semiconductor, WSP and the National Research Council. She also worked as Business Development Team Lead for the non-profit Mitacs Inc. for 5 years, bringing together academia and industry for collaborative research projects. Rebecca holds a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (minor Arts) from McGill University and a Master of Science in Media Arts and Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is a mom of two young boys and loves to play piano, jog, and ride Bixis
Natalie Bisaillon – Director Strategic Initiatives – Claims at Intact
Natalie Bisaillon is Director, Strategic initiatives in claims at Intact Financial Corporation, the largest provider of property and casualty insurance in Canada and a leading provider of specialty insurance in North America. Her team leverages data analytics to develop and deploy national initiatives, tools, and processes related to the claims supply chain and technology. Before assuming this function in 2016, Natalie held various roles in the investment management branch of Intact where she was responsible of the governance, middle office, and data operations. Prior to joining Intact in 2007, she worked as a portfolio manager and trader at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, a public pension fund. Throughout her career, she has lead the implementation of numerous key strategic priorities. She sits on the board of the Club de la médaille d’or, a non-profit organisation that develops, supports, and promotes the next generation of athletes. Natalie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A), majoring in finance and a Master of Science (MSC), finance from HEC Montréal. She has earned the Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA institute. She is passionate of strategy and transformation driven by data analytics and design thinking.

Amandeep is Quality Assurance Specialist at Sportlogic. The forefront of the sports analytics revolution, providing data backed insights into player and team performance. His interest in technology and overall curiosities, about how a business functions, has lead Amandeep into an unconventional career path. Over the past 20 years, his journey has intersected many industries, from Transportation to Hospitality, Finance to Supply Chain, & Manufacturing to Big Data Analytics. In the process he has collected many stories along the way and is happy to share his experiences.
